Skiing

FUN ON THE SLOPES AND IN THE HUTS
A lot of fun on two skis is a guarantee during your winter holiday at Residence Reisenschuh. When staying with us, you can basically put on the skis directly at the front door and start skiing, because we are located right next to the skiing area. Here, well prepared slopes and cosy huts are waiting for you. Our younger guests can let steam off at the children’s area and gain first experience on skis. But of course, there are also other skiing areas near our holiday home: the skiing area Rosskopf at the Sterzing’s local mountain with its sunny slopes promises a lot of fun and the skiing area Ratschings-Jaufen with its many kilometers of slopes is definitely worth a visit. And the best: who doesn’t mind a short drive by car or train/bus, can reach Gröden/Val Gardena and spend a perfect winter day on the slopes of the famous Sellaronda! One thing is for sure: you’ll have a lot of fun!

Sledging

ON TWO RUNNERS TO THE VALLEY
Are you ready for a day in the snow with the whole family? Then, a toboggan ride is exactly what you need! Both children and parents will enjoy themselves while riding down to the valley at full speed! For a day on the toboggan, there are many different possibilities to choose from right in our surroundings: the toboggan runs in the skiing areas Ladurns and Rosskopf for those who want to reach the top with a lift and then return to the valley on two runners or those leading to the huts in the Pflerschtal Valley - e.g. Allrissalm or Zirog - for those, who would like to combine the toboggan adventure with a winter walk and a meal in a hut. Is there anything better than spending a day in the winter world with the people you love?

Ski mountaineering

STEEP ASCENTS AND DESCENTS IN THE FRESH SNOW
In the Pflerschtal Valley, a snowy winter is basically a guarantee. Therefore, it is the ideal place for winter sports of all kinds, and for ski mountaineering in particular. Who likes steep climbs to then curve downwards in the fresh snow is exactly in the right place. For the less experienced tourers among you, the easier tour starting in Pflersch and hiking up to the Pfaffenberg walking past Alrissalm or - for a slightly more difficult option - to the Bodenberg, are the perfect choice. More experienced tourers can start at Weiler Stein and reach beautiful peaks like Maurerspitze and Ellesspitze, where you have a stunning view of the Ridnauntal Valley. Furthermore, we highly recommend the ascent track at the skiing area Ladurns, the valley station of which is located directly next to our holiday home.

Snowshoe hiking

TRAMPING THROUGH THE SNOW
A walk in the snow-covered forest, in the middle of a dreamy, white landscape! Snowshoes are perfect to explore the winter wonderland in the Pflerschtal Valley! And is there anything better than having a delicious, typically South Tyrolean meal at a mountain hut after physical activity? For this reason, the circular hike leading past the three mountain huts Allrissalm, Enzianhütte and Hühnerspielhütte is a great choice. This way, physical activity can be combined with culinary pleasure. Another very popular path for snowshoe hikes is the path through the Pflerschtal Valley. Furthermore, the Tourist Association offers a weekly winter program with guided snowshoe hikes in the area around the Pflerschtal Valley. So, put on your snowshoes and let’s go, winter in Pflersch is waiting for you!

Christmas market

CHRISTMAS MAGIC IN THE ALPINE CITY
Christmas time is the ideal moment for an idyllic trip to the alpine city of Sterzing. Why? Because the magical Christmas market is definitely worth a visit! Between the beautiful townhouses of the city of the Fuggers and under the 46m high tower, during Christmas time, you can find the traditional market stands. Here you can buy unique souvenirs, try, and buy local food and warm your stomach and soul with mulled wine, hot apple juice, or hot chocolate. In the evening, it turns particularly festive because the lights on the roofs are turned on and bathe the market in a pleasant light, Christmas music underlines the atmosphere, and maybe some snowflakes dance through the air. This is how you imagine Christmastime, right? Of course, in our surroundings, there are also other Christmas markets, which can be reached easily: The Christmas markets in Brixen, Bozen, and Meran or the Christmas market in Innsbruck (Austria), which is easy to reach by car or train thanks to our position close to the border.

Cross-country skiing

GLIDING THROUGH THE SNOW ON TWO SKIS
Is there anything better than gliding through the snowy landscape, inhaling the clean air and unwinding body and mind? This is exactly what you can do on the cross-country trail in Ladurns: on a 14 kilometres long trail prepared for the classic and the skating styles, all lovers of endurance sports will have fun at an altitude of 1,250m. The trail is perfectly prepared from December to April and offers beautiful views as well as possibilities to take a break, warm up and enjoy a meal. But this is not all, there are also other cross-country trails in the surroundings, e. g. in the Valleys of Pfitsch and Ridnaun, which can easily be reached by car or bus.
